Microsoft Teams users are being prompted to select a certificate due to a bug after recent update.
The issue began this morning and caused a “Select a certificate” prompt to show up during log-in for us-prod.asyncgw.teams.microsoft.com.
The problem has been acknowledged by Microsoft, and they are tracking it under TM261228, where they state that a recent update to their software is causing the problem.
Microsoft’s advisory states: “We have determined that a recent deployment, designed to improve service performance, is creating an impact. We are reverting the update while we monitor the affected environment to verify that it has resolved the issue.”
As stated by Microsoft, only customers in the North American region are affected. However, Microsoft Teams users in Brazil, Costa Rica, APAC, EMEA, and EU are experiencing errors.
In response, Microsoft has rolled out a reverted update to resolve the problem.
There are some reports that relaunching the client may resolve the issue.
