Last week, EA and DICE officially unveiled Battlefield 2042 (Battlefield 6) via a YouTube live-stream. Here’s how to watch Battlefield 2042’s first game play reveal. Filmed over five minutes, the trailer gave fans their first glimpse at the game, to be set in the mid-2030s – 2042 to be precise.
No traditional campaign will be present in the game since it will be a multiplayer-only title. As a consequence of failing to handle a climate and humanitarian crisis, the game’s narrative portrays a world on the brink of war. Following the failure of many nations, the “greatest refugee crisis in human history” has resulted from food shortages, energy shortages, and water shortages.
However, we expect to see a glimpse of the third, mysterious multiplayer mode, as well as the All-out Warfare and Hazard Zone modes. Also expected is how various factors, including major weather changes and the type of equipment and upgrades the “Specials” can access, will affect the game’s action.
The Xbox Series X is almost certain to showcase gameplay of Battlefield 2042 running on the console. Dice and Microsoft may demonstrate ray tracing and features like rendering large maps on the flagship console.
Battlefield 2042 will be an evolution rather than a revolution over previous Battlefield games when it’s released on October 22. That could, however, be just what the series needs, particularly on new gaming platforms and PCs.
Battlefield 2042 gameplay will be shown off today at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. BST at EA and developer Dice’s Xbox Games Showcase.
This should be one of the biggest highlights of E3 2021. The stream below contains the entire event, which will likely also contain news from Bethesda studios, which Microsoft recently acquired.
This year, Battlefield 2042 comes to PS5, Xbox Series S/X, PC, Xbox One and PS4, but it won’t be available on last-generation consoles.
