Apple also announced today at WWDC that its Shortcuts iOS software will be coming to macOS later this year. According to the business, a massive library of pre-built shortcuts will be created specifically for the Mac.

Shortcuts enable you to quickly complete tasks in your apps with a single tap or by invoking Siri. The Shortcuts app enables you to create custom shortcuts from your favourite apps that include numerous steps. Create your own by starting with one of the hundreds of examples in the Gallery or by dragging and dropping.

Shortcuts has over 300 built-in actions and is compatible with a wide variety of your favourite apps, including Contacts, Calendar, Maps, Music, Photos, Camera, Reminders, Safari, and Health, as well as any app that supports Siri Shortcuts.

On macOS Monterey, Automator will continue to be supported, and users will be able to import Automator activities directly into the new Shortcuts app. Apple has announced the start of a multi-year transition from Automator to Shortcuts.
